Not-So-Curated Conversations About Collapse

Join us for queries and conversations about inhabiting these times of profound change, loss, and possibility together. Every Tuesday evening, we'll create a communal container where uncertainty is welcomed, relationships are centered, and the mess of collapse becomes our teacher.

Through conversation, imagination, and embodied practice, we'll gather around questions like: What if we welcomed both the unpredictable and unimaginable? What is the underculture we want to root in during this time of the Long Dark? What opens up when we shift from problem-solving to mutual learning in the face of polycrisis?

Hosted by Holly Truhlar and Emily Rhae Swanson, these conversations will celebrate neuroqueerness, ecological entanglement, and soul while holding space for the confusion, grief, and tenderness of these times. We draw inspiration from thinkers, feelers, and projects like Octavia Butler, Ayana Elizabeth Johnson, Alexis Pauline Gumbs, Nora Bateson, Francis Weller, the Telepathy Tapes, and the beyond-human-beings who remind us that in times of collapse we're called to practice belonging with the unfamiliar.

If this stirs something in you, we'd love to have you join us in this experiment. We will open up applications soon.

FACILITATORS

Holly Truhlar (she/they) is a grief therapist, group facilitator, and community organizer. She earned a Doctorate in Law and Masters in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology, though she learns the most from her relationships with the Wild, including the land she inhabits, Ancestors, Hekate, and donkeys. She’s most known for her collaborations with collapse psychology, politicized grief tending, and soul activism. Her body of work is a remembering and revisioning of what it means to be people of potency and culture. She mentors people one-on-one and facilitates groups using ritual, storytelling, imagination, creative practices, and Deep Democracy work. In 2023, she co-facilitated a 5-month grief ritual training alongside Francis Weller with over 700 participants; they are co-facilitating another cohort with the Centre for Climate Psychology in 2025.

Emily “Rhae” Swanson (they/them/she) is constantly astonished by the creativity, beauty, and abundance of the living world. They are a parent, sibling, child, psychotherapist, ecopsychologist, group facilitator, grief tender, poet and student of wild and not-so-wild beings and lands. They serve as the Northern California State Coordinator for the Climate Psychology Alliance of North America (CPA-NA), helping to address the mental health dimensions of the climate and ecological crisis in the West. Emily Rhae’s writing and work is dedicated to collective and personal liberation through the practices of connection-within-change. Nonbinary and neurodivergent, they are especially excited about the potential and possibilities of the liminal spaces, the edges, and in the places often overlooked or avoided. Having experienced multiple radical life upheavals and losses, they have a healthy appreciation for what it means to live through the end of one life and into an unimagined future.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are there group agreements?

Yes, we share four core agreements: 1) no unsolicited advice, 2) confidentiality & sacred witnessing, 3) centering relationship & belonging, and 4) embracing complexity & contradiction. These help create our container of care and authentic connection.

What accessibility features are offered during the live Zoom gatherings?

Live closed captioning is available. We aim to share prompts in the chat and verbally. You're welcome to have your video camera on or off. Every practice is an invitation—participate in ways that work for you. Come as you are and tend to your needs as they arise.

What if I can't attend an entire live session? Can I come late or leave early?

While we're creating an intimate space for shared exploration and hope people can join us for the whole session, we understand that life can be unpredictable. Our virtual doors remain open throughout the gathering, welcoming you whenever you can arrive and for as long as you can stay.

Are the UNRAVEL | ENTANGLE gatherings recorded? Will we have access to them?

Yes, we are recording most of the live Tuesday gatherings. We will post most of them within a day or two after the live session. Recordings will be available for 30-days, unless we decide to keep one up longer.  They are watchable/listenable but not downloadable.

What is the cost to join UNRAVEL | ENTANGLE weekly sessions?

We understand that late-capitalism is f*cked and access to resources is a result of institutionalized white supremacy, patriarchy, ableism, capitalism, and colonization, as such we use a sliding scale and offer scholarships to anyone who needs them. Our sliding scale ranges from $10 USD - $80 USD a month. People choose what amount they can pay with monthly subscriptions offered in $10 increments. We simply ask that people make an honest assessment of what they can comfortably afford.

Every subscription includes the live weekly UNRAVEL | ENTANGLE gatherings, access to the session recordings which are available for viewing/listening for 30 days, and resources shared within the network.

Can I cancel my subscription whenever I want?

Yes, you can easily cancel your subscription whenever you would like to by going to your network account settings.
