This monthly series explores collapse through a neuroqueer lens. We'll open more possibilities for orienting to the fuckery of these times. We’ll expand our sense of self to include the beyond-human, sensing what else might be happening underneath, around, inside, and between. Each session includes teaching, embodiment practices, poetry, shared imagination, and group harvesting.

This month we’ll orient through the neuroqueer paradigm. We’ll explore the roots of the pathology paradigm of neurodivergence, including its connection to colonization and Empire. We’ll then move into the neurodiversity paradigm as a disability-justice-informed response to the pathologization of difference. From there, we’ll explore the medicalization and limits of the neurodiversity paradigm and turn toward what most calls us: the neuroqueer paradigm.
We’ll trace the lineage of the neuroqueer paradigm, including ecological and cosmological murmurations, mutations, and orientations. We’ll move into neuroqueering as a relational practice for increasing permeability and porosity in order to, as Édouard Glissant says, “consent not to be a single being.”

Holly Truhlar (they/she) is a neuroqueer collapse psychologist, politicized grief tender, and soul activist. Their work centers on cultivating a cosmology of belonging, practicing the alchemy of rupture and repair, and eldering end times. Their teaching style brings ritual, storytelling, imagination, creative practices, and Deep Democracy into relational practice. They hold a Doctorate in Law and a Master’s in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology, though their deepest learnings come through sustained relationship with the Wild, including the Dreaming Earth, Ancestors, Hekate, and donkeys. In 2026, they're co-facilitating their third grief ritual leadership training and advising organizations on liberatory grief work, compassionate accountability processes, and soul-centered leadership.

em swanson (they/them/lichen) is a parent, psychotherapist, ecopsychologist, group facilitator, grief tender, poet and devoted kin of wild and not-so-wild lands. their life work focuses on practicing the possible futures calling from the afterlife of collapse. having experienced multiple radical life upheavals and losses, em has a healthy appreciation for what it means to live through the end of one life and into an unimagined future.
em is a neurodivergent, nonbinary descendent of indigenous American (Cherokee) and European (Swedish, Irish, English and German primarily) peoples. they are deeply grateful to the unceded lands of the Coast Miwok people in Marin, California that feed their life and love.
Are there group agreements?
Yes, we share four core agreements: 1) no unsolicited advice, 2) confidentiality & sacred witnessing, 3) centering relationship & belonging, and 4) embracing complexity & contradiction. These help create our container of care and authentic connection.
What accessibility features are offered during the live Zoom gatherings?
Live closed captioning is available. We aim to share prompts in the chat and verbally. You're welcome to have your video camera on or off. Every practice is an invitation—participate in ways that work for you. Come as you are and tend to your needs as they arise.
What if I can't attend an entire live session? Can I come late or leave early?
While we're creating an intimate space for shared exploration and hope people can join us for the whole session, we understand that life can be unpredictable. Our virtual doors remain open throughout the gathering, welcoming you whenever you can arrive and for as long as you can stay.
Are the UNRAVEL | ENTANGLE gatherings recorded? Will we have access to them?
Yes, we are recording these gatherings in speaker view and may use them in future offerings.
What is the cost to join UNRAVEL | ENTANGLE weekly sessions?
We understand that late-capitalism is f*cked and access to resources is a result of institutionalized white supremacy, patriarchy, ableism, capitalism, and colonization, as such we use a sliding scale and offer scholarships to anyone who needs them. Our sliding scale ranges from $40 - $100 USD per session.
Every registration includes access to a watchable (not downloadable) recording for 60-days. Please email us after the session for access to the recording.
What is your refund policy?
We do not offer refunds for these sessions.
